Launch of new outreach to homelessness project – MOBI

The Shelter Collective’s mission is to create homelessness solutions through community collaboration and effort.  The Rockhampton community in Central Qld has an escalating challenge around the number of people sleeping rough and/or homeless.  This is not a problem unique to CQ, however, this problem is fairly new to this regional town and there are not a lot of services established in the region who are providing dedicated homelessness services particularly of the mobile kind.  With a very generous donation of a bus from Rothery’s, The Shelter Collective has committed to designing a mobile outreach service that can outreach to people who are sleeping rough and take services directly to where they are needed most.

Our MOBi bus design is looking great and we have engaged a local engineering firm, HDE Engineering to assist us with the conversation of the bus into a mobile homelessness service.
