Its always hard to know if your planned volunteer day is going to be a success. It was a hot and humid day in Gladstone and we were asking the Gladstone community to come out and donate their time on a Saturday, to undertake dirty, hot work to clean up the Cooinda Units at our ARC21 Project. But many did – over 63 people turned up and worked incredibly hard. An amazing effort from our local working team to coordinate this event, a huge shout out to the 63 plus people that turned out on the day and the several local businesses that donated money, equipment, materials and labour that allowed us to make some serious in-roads into cleaning up the site.
What an effort! For a site that has been sitting derelict and unloved for nearly a decade, there was so much interest and enthusiasm from people interested in renovating these premises to their former glory.
Thank you Gladstone!!
